Edwin Ramos, 39, was working inside the well when he suddenly lost his senses, presumably due to the lack of oxygen, according to a hypothesis reported in the first reconstructions of the incident.

Faced with the possibility of losing the man with whom he shared life, he made a decision that would risk his own safety.
