There are acts of cruelty difficult to understand even after having known the circumstances.
Laura Cunliffe was convicted in the United Kingdom after putting Mowgli, her kitten of just four months, in a microwave oven because she believed she killed her red fish.
According to what emerged in court, Cunliffe imposed the microwave for five minutes, but he took out the kitten after about a minute, when he realized what he had done. Mowgli was still alive, but died about 90 minutes later due to the serious injuries reported.
In March 2014, the judge defined what happened an act of “absolutely horrificness” and sentenced Cunliffe to 14 weeks in prison.
It was also imposed on her the ban on life to keep animals, with the possibility of requesting a revision of the measure after five years.
The episode occurred in September 2013, while the sentence arrived in March 2014 in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
The case provoked strong indignation for violence inflicted on such a young and defenseless animal.
