For many it seemed a simple covered tattoo. In fact, that change brought forth an avalanche of questions about Sylvester Stallone's private life.
In August 2022, the actor surprised his fans by showing an important change on the right biceps. The tattoo with the face of his wife Jennifer Flavin had disappeared and instead appeared Butkus, his beloved dog, also became famous for appearing in the first movie of "Rocky".
The transformation immediately drew media attention, especially because it arrived a few days before Jennifer Flavin officially asked for divorce, questioning a marriage that lasted for twenty-five years.
In front of the numerous indiscretions, the actor's staff explained that everything was born from an attempt to retouch the original tattoo dedicated to his wife. The result, however, had not been satisfactory and had therefore decided to cover it with the image of Butkus.
At the same time another tattoo dedicated to Jennifer was modified, further feeding voices on the couple's crisis.
It looked like a long love story.
But there was something that few expected.
After weeks of tension and great media attention, Stallone and Jennifer Flavin decided to reconcile. The divorce request was withdrawn just a month later and the two chose to give a new chance to their marriage.
That story showed how easy it is to interpret a visible gesture, like a tattoo, without knowing everything that happens behind the scenes. Sometimes the images tell a part of the story, but the final can be very different from what everyone imagines.
