For one night, according to a story that became famous, Lady Diana would have managed to go unnoticed.

The story was told years later by actress Cleo Rocos. In the late 1980s, Diana would have had an evening with Freddie Mercury, comedian Kenny Everett and Rocos.

To enter without being recognized at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern, London's historic local frequented by the LGBTQ+ community, the princess would wear a large military jacket, a leather cap and aviator glasses.

According to this testimony, the disguise worked: the group remained in the club for a short time and Diana was not recognized.

The episode, however, has never been confirmed by independent evidence and was questioned by a person close to Freddie Mercury.

For this reason it is more correct to consider it a fascinating and controversial tale, not a historical fact definitively established.
